HI-TECH PHARMACAL RECEIVES FDA APPROVAL FOR FLUOXETINE ORAL SOLUTION

Amityville, NY, July 01, 2002– Hi-Tech Pharmacal Co., Inc. (NASDAQ: HITK) announced today that the Company received approval from the Food and Drug Administration to market its 20mg /5ml Fluoxetine Oral Solution.

Hi-Tech's Fluoxetine Oral Solution is the generic equivalent of Eli Lilly's ProzacTM Oral Solution.
