Signs International Distribution Agreement

N.Y. September 5, 2001Hi-Tech
Pharmacal Co., Inc. (NASDAQ: HITK) announced today that it had
signed its first international distribution agreement for its
branded products for diabetics. According to the Agreement, Dr.
Po Pharmaceuticals in alliance with the Diabetes Association,
will market and distribute the DiabetiTussin®, line through
its dedicated sales force to doctors, drug stores and hospitals
in Taiwan, targeting almost one million people affected with the
disease.
Commenting
on the Agreement and the first purchase order David Seltzer, President
and CEO of Hi-Tech, said: We are very pleased to announce
our first order from Taiwan for DiabetiDermÆ Cream and Lotion
indicated for severely dry skin, which is an extremely common
complication caused by diabetes. Our partner, Dr. Po Pharmaceuticals,
has a solid record of marketing and distributing pharmaceutical
products in Taiwan. We hope that these items will be soon followed
by other products marketed by the Healthcare Products Division
of Hi-Tech, including its leading DiabetiTussinÆ brand of
sugar free cough & cold remedies.
